The Dark Knight: 1/6th Sc
ale Batmobile CollectionHot Toys has released images for a 1/6th Scale Batmobile Collection inspired by The Dark Knight. Unlike Frank Miller’s interpretation, Batman’s vehicle of choice takes on a more military/tank-inspired design which is reflected beautifully through the well-executed construction. Although it was never once referred to as the “Batmobile” in the first two films by Christopher Nolan, the name has become synonymous with the superhero. The 1/6th Scale Batmobile Collectible features an authentically detailed 1/6th scale model car, a 12-inch collectible figure, headlights with light-up function, a cockpit/roof opening panel which slides up and down to allow the access of the 1/6th scale Batman, and movable braking flaps. The collection in its entirety can be pre-ordered for $358 USD.
As the technology landscape continues to change on a daily basis, it seems that new and innovative devices pose either a potential demise or an opportunity for software and electronics companies alike. Adapting its brand positioning to the changing climate, Akai debuts its MPC Fly for the iPad 2. Combining 16 backlit MPC pads into its built-in iPad 2 case, the MPC Fly is completed with an integrated iOS app that boasts an array of effects, a four-track mixer, sound library, sample editing and an EQ. Weighing in at just over two pounds, the MPC Fly – although not the most convenient iPad case – packs a lot of punch within its relatively small size. Source: Gear PatrolAkai MPC Fly for iPad 2
Paying its due respects to three of the more notable US cities – New York, Los Angeles and Boston, Converse introduces three iterations of its storied Chuck Taylor All Star Premium in a range it is dubbing the “City Collection.” Tapping recognizable, sports-inspired colors from each respective city, the understated shoes are mocked up in a solitary tumbled leather upper with chromatic nods being given via the laces, midsole, interior lining and upper embroidery. Moving to the interior and underside sole of the each style, Converse solidified the theme via a typified display of each city’s name in a matching colorway. The Chuck Taylor All Star City Collection is now offered through the Converse online store for a limited time. Retail is set at $90 USD.Converse Chuck Taylor All Star Premium City Collection

Most famous for his work with Thrasher and Metallica, San Francisco artist Pushead is set to collaborate with Nike SB on a new Dunk Low for Fall 2012. A followup to their infamous 2005 collab, this new version substitutes a “bleached” canvas design and gold accents in place of the predominately red look of the previous release. Completed with additional black paneling and a gum sole, this will undoubtedly be one of the biggest releases of the year from Nike SB. Source: SneakernewsPushead x Nike SB Dunk Low “Bleached”
When “real” just isn’t sufficient for describing the real, Hyperreal. Diego Gravinese lends much to the genre with his modern twist of super real surrealist oil and acrylic paintings on canvas – hand tweaked replicas of photographs curiously mundane and randomly curious all at once. Taking photo realism to an extreme, the Argentinian artist combines pop art elements with great technical skill to recreate imagery that boggles the mind.
